firefox-3.5 package

can not install 9.10

I have 9.10 on laptop but i have downloaded a copy to disk and tried to install on my desktop.
i have completed a disk verification and memory check - both good
when i install it goes through the whole thing name - computer name - password etc
then installs (you se all hint pages) then gets to the reboot computer,
when you reboot computer it comes up with
GRUB loading stage 1.5
GRUB loading please wait
Error 2
it stalls at this point
i have tried the process twice with same result
please help

Check you BIOS settings, and modify settings mostly for your hard disk.

Where you want to install the operating system?

thanks for reply but as stated it gets well past that stage.
loads right up but when asked to reboot puter it comes up with error 2

Christi is not detailing something Ubuntu based. The BIOS tells your system what settings to set for ardware and what boot device to use.

Do you dual boot by any chance?

Have you tried reinstalling Grub2 from te liveCD?

Can this also be reassigned as being associated with firefox as it clearly has nothing to do with firefox. It is a Grub issue, not a web browser issue.

hi i will try to reinstall grub2 from cd (if my old brain can work out how to)

order by mail the cd. and this is easy install.
