Broken check boxes in Gmail

Asked by ibclc2

The checkboxes next to the messages in my Gmail Inbox are not rendered properly. The right side of the box is missing. Looks like the star icon to the right of the box is overlapping it.

I solved this problem and am posting the question and now the answer for the benefit of any others who notice this. The solution is to use the Firefox View>Zoom In function. I clicked it twice in the menu and the check box displayed properly. Frankly, I am surprised that items don't get magnified and shrunken proportionately when you zoom in or zoom out. Items shouldn't overlay each other.

Just to note, in case anyone comes looking, the same thing can result in KDE using qt-gtk and the oxygen theme, as it does for me, and this problem is not, it seems, solved by zooming in.

I have the exact same problem using Firefox 3.0.5 under Ubuntu 8.04

Zooming helps only if I uncheck "Zoom Text Only", and anyway that's not a solucion since I don't want to have such a big font size just to be able to see the checkboxes correctly.

So, this problem is not solved at all, zooming is not a solution, it only hides the symptom ;)
