firefox installation in ubuntu 9.04

Why such an old version? 9.04 has not been supported is October 2010. This means no security patches, no bug fixes and the repositories have been moved making it difficult to install new software,

I recommend you install a supported version. My personal recommendation would be 12.04 as the LTS versions are supported for longer.

Since you have such an old release I'm guessing that your PC is on the old side. If it is you may want to consider one of the lighter desktops such as Lubuntu or Xubuntu. You can try them all without install installing from USB stick or CD/DVD. I recommend you give them a try without installing then backup and install the version you like best. They are all supported here

I know that 9.04 is very old version but I have no other option.

I am working as a freelancer on elance and the elance tracker works well only in ubuntu 9.04 not in 12.04

The other option would be to try to install from source but since I don't have access to a 9.04 machine I have no idea what other problems that may cause as I suspect a newer version of Firefox may require other packages to be installed first

this is not a support for Ubuntu (Because we cannot support an unsupported-EOL version) but take it as a tip.

Download Firefox (latest version) from mozilla's site . Search and find the tar.bz2 file. Then decompress the file and change directory (cd) to the firefox (new) directory. Run the executable. (./firefox) from the terminal.

I followed all the steps as told by you but got following error. I am
using ubuntu 9.04 32 bit system

XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /home/iscube1/Desktop/firefox/libxpcom.so:
libxul.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XPCOM.

Maybe downloading and installing XULRunner in the verson fitting to your firefox version helps, see https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/xulrunner/releases/19.0.2/runtimes/

Is there any issue with mozilla? I'm facing issues where I'm unable to load some posts one of them is https://emiratesidofficial.com/rta-fine-check/ . It loads perfectly but mozilla is not displaying it properly.
