Skype logitech camera will not work.very dark image

Skype with recommended Logitec camera will not work properly ?Displays a very dark image Camera will work OK with cheese program and is very clear. I have tried every setting in Skype but still no luck. Very strangely on one occasion during a phone call it worked perfectly ? Has anyone got any answers ?
