zip file can not find directory when trying to download

every time I try to download something I get this message. Im not very up on computers and am wondering what I could do to fix this in laymans terms

          /home/mike/Downloads/HotspotSetup.E1000.1.2.10104.2.exe.zip, and cannot find /home/mike/Downloads/HotspotSetup.E1000.1.2.10104.2.exe.ZIP, period.

You're trying to open een Microsoft Windows or DOS executable instead of a zipfile. You're sure this is a zipfile?

Can you help with this problem?
