i can't watch a disc with photo's made by my friend,Thank's

I got this computer from my sister it has ubuntu,I inserted the disc in my computer and tryed to view the photos a screen poped up that said could not open file:111home/ubuntu/RE%20offer2009110023.msg and I have very little computer savy very little

I also need a driver for my dell printer #720 and driver for my canon scanner #f913800 my computer is a dell dimension 3000 Thank's.

Help me please I don't know computer's.
