I would like to send calendar alarm notices to email address. Is this possible with Evolution?

For me in latest gutsy this option is greyed (i.e, not available).

You might be able to get an email notification though, with "running a program" instead (creating a shell script that sends an appropriate mail).

This is a working by-pass to the problem, but not really a good one for most users - me included. what's the deal with the greyed out option anyhow?
