sending and recieving mail

I just set my email up to evolution mail and the send and recieve is staying grayed out and doesn't retrieve the new mail

Open the Evolution screen, click on "File" (top left of the screen) and then select "Work Online" from the drop-down menu.

How do you set up a pop three conection using evoulation? I can not enable my account .
