Please instruct me as to how I can correct a wrongly entered server name_

I entered POP3 as incoming Server name and IMAP as outgoing Server name.

In Evolution, go to Edit -> Preferences. In the window that appears, click on 'Mail Accounts' in the left-hand pane, then select the mail account you wish to edit in the right-hand pane, and click the 'Edit' button.

You can then change the server names by clicking the 'Receiving E-mail' and 'Sensing E-mail' tabs in the window that appears.
