DVD::rip error messages

Asked by Ricci

Having installed DVD Rip I get the following error message under commands tab.
STDIN player command: xine not found : NOT Ok
rar command (for vobsub compression): rar not found : NOT Ok

as far as I can see Xine is installed as are Gaupol and Subtitle ripper.

Any Ideas folks?

Try: sudo apt-get build-dep dvdrip

Do you have non-free enbaled? under System/Administration/Software sources, are all the categories checked? I know rar is a non-free package. If not - enable all the available sources, then run the above command again.

Okay, so all dependencies are installed already. If: sudo apt-get upgrade
doesn't clear up the problem - then perhaps try a different ripping program. There's acidrip, k9copy, dvd95 - and more - do an "aptitude search dvd"
