Evolution connection to POP3

I am using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Evolution 3.2.3. (BTW: I am not an advanced user and somewhat a noob to Ubuntu, but I like it).
I am attempting to set up a connection to a POP3 server with my employer and get this error every time:
"Failed to connect to POP server pop.secureserver.net in secure mode: STLS not supported by server".
Not sure what "STLS" is...
It doesn't even ask for my password. I tried switching the secure settings: SSL, TLS, NO ENCRYPTION... all with the same result.
Unsure how to resolve, please advise.

There are no others that I know personally that use Ubuntu/Evolution. Most people I know have never heard of it. All others that are connected to this server are using Outlook.
