Cannot import mbox files

I am trying to import emails from Thunderbird. I select File, Import, Import Single File. When I browse to the mbox file it is not properly recognized by Evolution and it does not let me select mbox from the drop-down. It also does not have "Automatic" in the drop-down eventhough it says I should. Eveything is greyed out so I can't move forward therefore no import. I have searched the forums and I can't find anyone else with this problem.

I dont think these programs are really able to do this natively, i did however find this script to do this conversion: http://www.antezeta.com/beagle/copy_thunderbird.sh

but please be sure to back up all your current mail if you decide to try it.
