How do I unmark my emails as deleted?

Asked by Kim Harvey

I can't delete my emails from any folder unless I do ctrl+E. But how do I unmark them as being deleted? I don't want to push ctrlE forever.

And how do they get marked as deleted anyway?

To undelete ("unmark") a message marked as deleted in Evolution, you can do the following:

Keyboard maniac: select the message you want and press Shift-Ctrl-D
  OR
Mouse addict: Right-click on the message entry and choose "restore" (or something similar, my menus are in french)

Is it what you wanted to know ?

Yes that unmarks the email but when I try to delete it, the line gets put through it again. And there is no restore option when I right click on the msg.

That's the way it works. When you "delete" some messages, Evolution only marks them as deleted, but they're not really gone yet. It would have be more appropriate to just called them "to be deleted".

If, like me, you want them to disappear as soon as you press the delete button, select the "View" -> "Hide Deleted Message" in the top menu.

It might be called "Undelete" or "Recover" or anything else similar. Like I said, my menus are in french.

Hopes that helps.
