evolution mail startup wizard mistake / how to edit????

Asked by kirkwood paterson

(really loving this O.S. uber Zen, but...)
Ran the Evolution Mail startup wizard, & entered 'hotmail' instead of (I think) '<email address hidden>' in the 'server' window.
result: I get an error message while sending:
Host lookup failed: Hotmail: Name or service not known
I need to run it again or edit the server.
How do I do this?

Um..yes/no don't know.
guess I will just have to fumble through till I get used to UBUNTU
have located the sending/receiving preferences, but am as yet not certain that I have entered the correct pop3 client for <email address hidden> (being: <email address hidden>?) - seems to be taking far too long, but is asking me encouraging questions such as: my password, & has completed pop3 but seems stuck on smtp????
Anyway thanks. these things take getting used to

YES.
cant figure what I have done wrong.
there is a pop-up status window called 'send and receive mail'
there are 2 ongoing status reports:
pop alternates between 'getting' & 'retreiving' pop message (now @ attempt 248)
& below smtp, now on 5 of 15 messages I tried sending earlier, one of which was to myself & I have not received it.
my e-mail account is (as above) - have used <email address hidden> in the sending preferences.
seems odd (advice / online Q&A) that '<email address hidden>' would have a pop address of '<email address hidden>'?
could it be I should set it @ <email address hidden>
the advice I followed had '<email address hidden>' as an example in the pop settings,
It is trying to send, but doesn't succeed.

From http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1495189.

put your basic info in, you need to have pop3.live.com for incoming with a port of 995, in other words, your incoming is "pop3.live.com:995 and you want your encryption to be SSL . THEN on your incoming you want SMTP.LIVE.COM:587 AND you want TLS encryption here. then before you click ok, make sure, on the second screen, you have a space that will have your full email address, but for some reason evolution removes the "live.com" for me everytime, fix that and you should be good to go!

Yes,
There is a minor typo: you said THEN on your incoming; meant outgoing.
Thank you anyway, it is now working.
