european accent recognition

Hi,
Using Evolution with french tongue, it seems email recipients have difficulties to receive my emails with clear text including accents.
Example: in spite of receiving an "é", they receive some strange caracters.
Do I have to change my UNICODE UTF8 standard caracters in preferences, for an other code type ?

Yes, the standard you are probably looking for is ISO-8859-1. To change it, you go in Edit -> Preferences -> Mail Preferences. Then, choose the correct encoding, "Western European ISO-8859-1".

Tu dois changer le standard pour ISO-8859-1. Pour le changer, tu vas dans Éditer -> Préférences. Puis, dans Préférence Courriel (je suis pas sûr si c'est vraiment appelé comme ça en français) Après, choisi le bon encodage.
