Preferences > About Me won't open

Asked by Dan Swift

When I go to System > Preferences > About Me, it says "Starting About Me" in the bottom panel, but that's it. It doesn't open.

and you can find out what command that item runs. Launch it from the terminal and copy the command ran as well as the output and paste here please

Do you know of any work-arounds so I can get the same functionality? I don't mind editing configuration files.
