Can't access send/receive (greyed out) in Evolution

About two days ago my send receive button in Evolution was greyed out. I closed and restarted Evolution, Rebooted, completely turned off computer over night, then tried a Synaptic reinstall. Nothing works. Similar problem happened some time ago when Thunderbird was the default. Could not find any similar problems in the reported bugs.

Click file and uncheck "work offline"
