empathy shows no contact list

i want to see all my contacts online or off but it shows neither. did i transfer or not transfer my list from pidgin. i thought i did. or is this a system that only shows those people that are on line

never mind i found out that you have to hit the enable account button to make it work. Could have said that in the begining) lol thanks to all anyway
