Cannot Connect to Yahoo and Facebook Chat on Empathy IM Client

Its been quite some time since I am not able to connect to Yahoo ID and Facebook Chat in Empathy IM Client. Is there any solution for this problem? I tried installing Pidgin. Even in Pidgin, I am unable to connect to Yahoo ID.
