Deluge wont start

Asked by Ricci

After working impeccably for a couple of months Deluge has suddenly stopped loading, it starts to load but just never arrives. Notably when I try to start it there is a lot of network activity, as though it is trying to connect, but then it stops when the 'loading deluge' taskbar item disappears. Had the same thing on my other machine with Azureus and subsequently Ktorrent, which may suggest a problem with Gutsy. Ideas please please please.

Now getting this message:

testing port 51684 ...
NAT Error - Connection to 212.195.232.1:51684 (your computer) refused.

OK guys, this is embarrassing, I've only been working with computers for 35 years, but this has gone over my neophyte head. I understand that it is the port, what I don't understand is how it worked yesterday and for weeks and now doesn't. Why is tha,t and what do I do to remedy this? OK I'm thick, but I need simple help here, this is like a mechanic telling me the big end has gone. OK I get that, so what can I do about it, does removing the the boot lid help, shall I take out the windscreen, whats the difference between the big end and the small end??? Glug Glug going down for the third time!!!! Help Help!!!

Small point for consideration, If Deluge wont open, how do I change the port? I'm now going to change the wheels round now, so the front are on the back on opposite sides and vice versa, it's a Volvo so this might help. Aha thats a surprise isn't it, you didn't know they made computers did you? they don't, maybe that's why Deluge won't work !!
Oh shoot! that didn't work either, so I'm going to have a very large whiskey and go to bed as it's almost 1am in France. G'night guys, and thanks for all the previous help on other stuff. In 35 years I can't believe |I missed all this! Maybe it was just 'cos I was too busy looking out of the Windows.

Thanks again.

Problem solved Guys.
Apparently Sometimes, the configuration files might get corrupted. In Linux, you can fix this by typing
`rm ~/.config/deluge/persistent.state` in a terminal. This will remove all of the torrents, but they can be reloaded and Deluge will continue from where it left off. By default the torrent files are saved to ~/.config/deluge/torrentfiles/ in Linux
