What folder in the file system does the applications lens show?

Recently, I installed the software sources app on my 12.04 LTS but it doesn't show on the installed applications (applications lens). It shows on /usr/share/applications. What directory does the applications lens show? Thanks.

It depends on the category line of the .desktop file in /usr/share/applications which dictates where it shows

OK. If I want that Software Sources to appear on the applications lens, what should I do?

Not sure there dude, You may find editting easier with:

gksudo nautilus /usr/share/applications

and you will see the icons and so forth, you will be able to edit ti too. If you find an application in the Application Lens then copy the category line some, see how it goes. If yuo make a backup of the file to your home folder, you can play.

Found a solution. A guy from Ask Ubuntu told me to remove the:
NoDisplay=true
line from the .desktop file of the application on the /usr/share/applications directory. Now it shows on applications-lens.
