Which Epson drivers should I download for a V500Photo device?

Epson "does not support" my Linux OS., so I need to know which driver to download from a rather long list available.

I have an Epson PerfectionV500Photo device that I am attempting to use with my Linux OS.

I have gone to Epson support and can get as far as the list of drivers at which time someone there tells me to ask Linux which driver(s) to download.

Linux (by phone contact) told me they "don't do that".

This is the same answer I got from Epson, but the funny thing is that they do and very well at that.

this this the Linux site for the printers and scanners.
http://www.avasys.jp/lx-bin2/linux_e/scan/DL1.do
and the v500 is there.

 the driver look above looks good. will save that site lol
