"you don't need that many fonts, sorry" : Conky Bug or not ?

Asked by David Cancalon

Hi all,

Before reporting a new bug in Launchpad I'd like your opinion on a "bug" (or not !) in Conky.

I recently changed my .conkyrc file to add a few items. Since Conky randomly crash with the message "Conky: you do not need that many fonts, sorry". It is true that I have more that one font in use, but I'm far far away from the 256 limit (file fonts.h). I have approximatively five fonts with a bit more than twenty font switch in the .conkyrc file.

I was in version 1.8.1 (standard version for precise), I upgraded to version 1.9.0-2~ubuntu12.04.1 but unfortunately the behavior is the same...

According I have read on the net, I guess I'm not alone in this case.
So, from your point of view , is this a bug ?...

Best regards,
David.

PS: excuse me for my English, I'm french... :)

Thank you very much for your answer.
I'm now sure that is a bug. I have downloaded the source code and made some tests with more debug trace and now I know exactly where is the problem.
I will post a bug with all the information in the next days.
