No setting options

Hi,
My OS is Ubuntu 14.04 My hard disk seems to be nearly full so I tried to uninstall some programs I thought I didn't use (in the Ubunto software centre, I just chose some that didn't look necessary). Now I need to change my user setting and I find that the system setting only have 4 options instead of the all that used to be there. I am afraid I made a mess of it.
Is there a way to recover what was lost? Or is it something else altogether that caused them to disappear?

I want to change the user setting: so that on start up the user will be the guest account and not mine (which is administrator). However, what I need to solve is the fact that the setting are no longer available for change. Not just this one, also the one that enables to change keyboard setting and many others.

You can set that in lightdm.conf

probably gnome-control-center
try reinstalling this one (and its dependencies).

You wrote that your starting point was an almost full hard disk.
If you want help for identifying obsolete files, please create a new question, and we will be glad to support you also with that problem.
