Problem with Ubuntu 11.04 windows

I'm running Ubuntu 11.04/64 bit and now find I cannot minimise windows - the screen just flickers for a moment and then remains unchanged. Have checked Mint 11.04 and this works fine, so is there a fix for this? Also, I get the following error message when I try to access Launchpad from the help link:

Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Apache/2.2.14 (Ubuntu) Server at answers.launchpad.net Port 443

Any solutions out there?

Thanks, actionparsnip - but I've reverted to Ubuntu 10.10, which doesn't have these problems.

Can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C display; lsb_release -a; uname -a

Thanks, actionparsnip - but I've reverted to Ubuntu 10.10, which doesn't have these problems.
