How to check for bugs or viruses in Ubuntu System

Hello;
I have Ubuntu System ,in my computer and I like to know how to check for bugs or viruses or any other type,,or is Ubuntu safe
enough not to check..

open the software centre and and search for clamtk, but remember there are no active linux viruses in he wild... your really only scanning for windows viruses that may affect your windows using friends/family... so

Youcan install and run clamav and rkhunter, I'm 99% sure you won't find anything
