how do i scan for virus and remove it

I'm wondering how to scan my computer for viruses and remover any that may or may not be on here also how do i fix spam on here and find out if my computer has been hacked into or not?

open software centre and search for virus scanner

what you'll get is basically clamav with a graphical frontend that makes it pretty easy to use
