how to use clam av

I've updated to the newest version of ubuntu. It is great! According to software center the anti-virus programs are installed. I also went to the center and added the update & other packages connected with the anti-virus program. I did not add the test package. It looks like the program is running in the background as designed( when I shut down I can see that clam av was initiated at start up) but I don't know how to configure scanning etc. I am a newbie to this operating system and I feel a little like a fish out of water. The info on the clamav.net site was very technical. I underdstand there is a graphic interface. How is it listed on the software center and would that be the easiest way to learn the program?
