I am new to Ubuntu and I was wondering if there was a antivirus and spyware program or downloads for Ubuntu? If so where can I download it from?

linux in general is (because of its structure) quite safe, there are no real threats coming from viruses known. If a security hole is found, it is usually patched in no time!

But you can use linux to find viruses on windows-installation, e.g. if you use clamav. Just type sudo apt-get install clamtk in a terminal. To know more about security on linux:

Yes its True... Linux is very safe, but you can try

A free AntiVirus for Ubuntu, im using now this AV
