This is Ubuntu support only, not Mac support.

I don’t understand how you determined that I have a problem with my MacBook? Please read the heading. I have used Calibre for over 7 years and as of today I am unable to transfer books from Calibre to my Kobo. I am asking for help with this issue.

I do not understand how you determined from the heading above that I am having problems with my computer. I provided every detail I could in case it helped to figure out why after using Calibre for 7 years I can no longer transfer books from Calibre in epub format to my Kobo ereader. IF there is a bug then I know that I need to provide the operating system etc in order to help research the problem. I can’t find this particular issue in theQ&A’s so I am asking for help with the above.

Hello actionparsnip. Are you saying that you are able to move books using a USB port from you MacBook air running Catalina? My research (with help from Calibre developer) shows that Apple no longer supports third party transfer via USB connection. I have tried to figure out how to set up a server in order to send books there and transfer electronically to the ereader. At a loss. This issue is also happening with audio books. I can no longer transfer audiobooks via USB from Canadian libraries to apple music and then to my iPod. Only electronic transfer are allowed with apple. This change was made when Catalina OS replaced Mojave. Had I known I would never have done this. Many many apple users are upset about this. Electronic transfer of ebooks doesn't seem to work with IOS

This is Ubuntu support only. You are not using Ubuntu so any discussion not about Ubuntu is not on topic for this forum and should be pointed elsewhere.

If you're experiencing difficulties transferring books from Calibre to your Kobo Glo eReader, several troubleshooting steps can help resolve the issue. First, confirm that your Kobo Glo is connected to your computer via USB and is powered on. Ensure both Calibre and your Kobo Glo have the latest software updates, as outdated versions may lead to compatibility problems. In your Kobo Glo's settings, set the USB mode to "Connect to Computer." Within Calibre, verify that the KoboTouch or Kobo plugin is installed and activated, and ensure you've selected the correct device in the plugin settings. Always eject your Kobo Glo safely after transferring books to prevent data corruption. Double-check that the eBook formats you're transferring, such as EPUB, are supported by your Kobo Glo. If the issue persists, try using a different USB cable or port to rule out hardware problems. By following these steps, you should be able to resume transferring books from Calibre to your Kobo Glo.
