new update has changed view book

Since the latest update the book viewer is now displaying books like a newspaper in columns and not the way that it used to do which was in the style of a book. I have gone into preferences to see if there is any way to return to the old view but cannot seem to find one. I read books not newspapers and hate this new method. Please can we have an option of how to display a book?
