Hi,
Please first connect your wired network adapter to the wireless router using an ethernet cable (also known as a LAN cable).
In order to gather essential troubleshooting information about your wireless card, please follow this procedure:
Step 1:
If you are using the Gnome interface, open the Terminal console via "Applications-
If you are using the Unity interface, the easiest way to open the Terminal is to use the 'search' function on the dash. Or you can click on the 'More Apps' button, click on the 'See more results' by the installed section, and find it in that list of applications. A third way, available after you click on the 'More Apps' button, is to go to the search bar, and see that the far right end of it says 'All Applications'. You then click on that, and you'll see the full list. Then you can go to Accessories > Terminal after that.
The methods in Unity are:
Press Control-ALT-T key combination.
Dash > Search for Terminal
Dash > More Apps > 'See More Results' > Terminal
Dash > More Apps > Accessories > Terminal
Step 2: Please copy-paste the following command from https:/
Tip: If you have a wheel mouse or 3 button mouse you do not need to type commands into the Terminal. Highlight the command written on the page. Move your cursor anywhere in the Terminal and press the wheel or middle button. Automatic Copy and paste! No spelling mistakes! No Typos! No other errors!
sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install hwinfo grep rfkill; sudo lshw -C network; rfkill list; sudo iwlist scan | egrep -i 'chan|ssid'; cat /etc/network/
Step 3: Please post results (copy/paste terminal output) on this thread. The troubleshooters here need to see the full Terminal output from running the above command.
Regards,
Mark

First of all, please copy-paste the following commands into the Terminal (using a working, WIRED Internet connection) to ensure the required firmware is installed:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install firmware-
Furthermore, your Terminal output shows the following issue:
*-network DISABLED
description: Wireless interface
physical id: 1
1: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: yes
RUNNING STATE WIFI-HARDWARE WIFI WWAN-HARDWARE WWAN
running connected disabled disabled enabled disabled
[ 21.664650] b43-phy0: Radio hardware status changed to DISABLED
wlan0 IEEE 802.11bg ESSID:off/any
Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Power Management:off
So your wireless card is probably disabled by a hardware switch, a
special key combination (Fn-F2, etc...), by incorrect BIOS settings for
wireless, or a COMBINATION of these factors...
There might also be a BIOS option that allows you to have the wireless
functionality controlled "By application"
Search for the "by application" option in the BIOS and select it (if
possible)....
Then reboot and retest wireless.
Also run the following Terminal commands to try to change the rfkill
state of your wireless chipset after rebooting:
rfkill unblock all
sudo rfkill unblock all
Then retest wireless.

I had my laptop checked with a Laptop Service Center here and it turns out to be a BIOS issue.
Issue is resolved now and am able to connect to wireless networks. I will keep this under observation. Thank you so much!

Thanks Mark Rijckenberg, that solved my question.
