Banshee does not work

Banshee player does not support mp3 files. Even after installing the plugins Fluendo and something "Ugly" it does not work. The Movie player is able to open the files but not Banshee. How can I rectify the problem? Can I install Rhythmbox in Ubuntu 11.10?

Hi, try to do this:
1. Opena terminal by hitting CTRL + ALT + T
2. Insert and run this command:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

3. Try to listen your music now.
