installed Hipo iPod management tool says iPod not found

summary pretty much says it all. my ipod is connected and its files are displayed on the desktop but when i open the ipod management tool it says no ipod found. all im trying to do is move my music from the computer to the ipod in the easiest way possible, so if this doesnt work ill take any suggestions.

since i have removed my ipod and restarted my computer they are still there. they appeared after i plugged up my ipod for the first time.
