Anyone here (Ubuntu Devs) working on Avidemux 2.6?

Asked by emarkay

I am working on some limited testing on 2.6.0 (Build 6616 as of now) and it works, well at least it loads, but there's a CPU maxing issue and apparent resulting video playback lag: http://avidemux.org/admForum/viewtopic.php?pid=46534#p46534

I am willing to do more here, too, to get this version working, and to help make it available "officially" to the Ubuntu community.

What can I do to assist?

the package provided on: http://avidemux.org/nightly/quantal32/
work pretty well. the first time with mp4v2_muxer that cutting out parts of a video is really simple, and quick, without recoding / recalculating the video, and without putting the sound out of sync.

the way i installed it was by first installing the qt version, and then put the 2.6.0 version over it, giving:

$ sudo wajig list avidem
ii avidemux3-core 2.6.0-r8323 i386 Simple video editori,core libraries
ii avidemux3-plugins-common 2.6.0-8323 i386 Simple video editor, plugins
ii avidemux3-plugins-qt4 2.6.0-8323 i386 Simple video editor, plugins
ii avidemux3-qt4 2.6.0-8323 i386 Simple video editor,main program qt4 version
ii avidemux-common 1:2.5.4-0ubuntu13 all a free video editor - Internationalization files
ii avidemux-plugins-common 1:2.5.4-0ubuntu13 i386 a free video editor - common files for plugins
ii avidemux-plugins-qt 1:2.5.4-0ubuntu13 i386 a free video editor - Qt plugins
ii avidemux-qt 1:2.5.4-0ubuntu13 i386 a free video editor - QT version
