will awn work like the panel in gutsy?

was thinking about trying awn again. does it work in gutsy?

i haven't installed awn yet. what steps should i take to correctly install it through the terminal, unless there's a more effective way to install it. also, i would like for it to start up with my desktop when i log on. and one more thing, when i minimize windows will they minimize to awn dock the same way they do in the bottom panel?
