Audacious2 very slow to respond in Karmic unlike Audacious in Jaunty

I upgraded Jaunty to Karmic and Audacious was very slow to respond to streaming audio play list files (unlike Jaunty). I thought it was a result of the upgrade process so I did a clean install of Karmic and found that the issue appears to be with Audacious2 on Karmic. VLC and Amarok play them immediately but Audacious2 takes upwards of two minutes to initialize the files. All I did in both cases is install audacious from the command line with sudo apt-get install audacious, open the play list file (smoothjazz,pls) and waited...and waited...and waited.

Is this a known issue? Can you report it the the developers that provide Audacious?
