How to Backup installed software in UBUNTU using "aptoncd", If apt cache has been cleaned
I am using ubuntu 11.10. I have installed root on different partition with 10GB, /home on different partition 19GB with 1 GB swap.
I want to upgrade my ubuntu11.10 to 12.04. I have all the three IMAGES of Ubuntu 12.04 live CD, Alternate CD and DVD image.
But, the problem is :
1.I don't want to lose my data stored on Home folder as well as settings such as BOOKMARKS of MOZILLA.
2. I don't want to iinstall all the softwares that I have Installed Manually from Internet after spending too much time and Bandwidth as i have very slow Internet Connection and Limeted Bandwidth. I have checked on the internet about Backing up the installed softwares using "aptoncd" software, but it requires" /var/cache/
so, I have already cleaned apt by using "BLEACHBIT" software many times.. now, when I use aptoncd, It doesn't show me the details of previously installed softwares.....so, IS THERE ANY WAY TO BACKUP THOSE SOFTWARES AND INSTALL THEM WITHOUT USING INTERNET CONNECTION AFTER UPGRADE FROM CD/DVD.
