Hi :)

When you bootup do you get to a menu with lots of Ubuntu options and possibly a "mem-test"? Select the Ubuntu option that has "recovery mode" at the end of the line, it should be the 2nd option. Try the "dpkg fix broken packages", the other options except "root" and "fix x-server" (graphics) are also worth trying, while you're there.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your suggestion. I've tried it several times, and its failed. Same error appears even inside recovery mode???

Any other suggestions you may have?

I would suggest to uninstall k3d. Let us know if this helps or the problem went away anyway.

Uninstalled k3d,
and after restarting several times in recovery mode, and getting it to fix itself, running some more updates the problem disappeared...??? Quite disappointed with my ubuntu.
