Desktop sideways

When I start my Ubuntu 18.04 in normal mode, the desktop displays sideways, left or right.
I have to turn the laptop in order to be able to look at it or to press a button.
I have to restart the laptop in recovery mode.Is there a problem, and what is the remedy ?

This may help, find an app, (it is part of the system) called Screen Display. that can set the rotation to either normal or right or left or I believe even upside down. After you make the change, be sure to accept the new display.
