Apport not launching browser window on reporting issues

Apport used to launch a browser window where it asks me to give additional information during a crash. Recently it stopped doing this. But some of the crashes seems to be reported on checking my launchpad account. Some recent changes I did recently were,
1) Switched to gnome-shell from unity
2) Made chrome as my default browser instead of firefox
The issue I got recently was not easily reproducible, so couldn't check it again from Unity. Is it some know issue? And is there a way to check it other than waiting for another issue?

Try this from a terminal.
ubuntu-bug <package>

Verify if the crash file is in /var/crash, right click and select from context menu 'report with apport'.

Search bug reports by click on 'bugs' on top of this page.
