The reason why apitrace is not available in Ubuntu 22.04 is Bug #1939868

Meanwhile a package for Ubuntu 22.10 is in development, https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apitrace
You could try whether that one is manually installable and working on Ubuntu 22.04
