when does ubuntu upgrade their apache releases ?

Need to upgrade apache server from 2.2.14 to 2.2.17. Downloaded the package and have tried every way I can find on the web to do a manual build. None of them work. Was hoping to get the update automatically. Does anyone know when Ubuntu pushes out the Apache upgrades ? or does anyone have any experience in doing a manual upgrade of Apache ?
