Amarok won't play music for some reason.

Asked by some_cro_dude

I added music to collection, put files on playlist, and amarok "plays" music for one thousand of second. It literally flashes through the play track like it played it, and continues playing others like that. I really don't know what is the problem.

You are likely missing a codec. Try installing kubuntu-restricted-extras and see if that fixes your problem.

You need kubuntu-restricted-extras. ubuntu-restricted-extras does not give you the necessary codec.

I, too, have the same problem and request that 89570 be re-opened for me.

Just about every software package has been installed on my computer to no avail. Included are:
                            ubuntu-restricted-extras
                            kubuntu-restricted-extras
                            libxine1-ffmpeg
                            phonon-backend-xine
                            phonon-backend-gstreamer

and God knows how many other xine's, phonon'sand ffmpeg's but like I said, to no avail.

A little help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,

ken

Ken Johnson has solved my problem. I checked and was missing one package I think it was libxine1-ffmpeg. Once installed and reboot it played fine. Thanks... :)
