Where is Error Log File for Amarok?

Asked by Eric Seibert

Just installed Amarok on Ubuntu 9.04 and during configuration it wants to build the collection. It selected the right folder automatically (music) and began to build the collection. The progress bar moves up to 2% when I received the following error message:

"Sorry, the collection scan had to be aborted.
Too many errors were encountered during the scan."

Ok, but this tells me absolutely nothing about what the errors were so I can make an attempt to fix the errors. Thus the question... Where is the Error Log File found for Amarok so I can find out what those errors are?

Thanks for your help.

You may find something in:

/var/log

I suggest you run:

cd ~/.kde; find -name amar*

and rename anything it finds. You will need to close amarok first. This will set your amarok settings to defaults and you can rebuild your settings from there. This may make it succeed. As you only renamed and did not delete, you can rename back if you wish.

Can you help with this problem?
