does the player mount on the desktop and not amarok ,also do you receive any messages like mount_point cannot contain the following characters: newline, G_DIR_SEPARATOR (usually /)

hey red_vino try to do this click view , click on show hidden files , open the .gconf folder and follow this path /system/storage/volumes until you find the folder that contains your device and move it to the trash , unplug your device and reboot. When you plug it back in it should mount . inside amarok go to settings /configure amorok/media devices/click Autodetect Devices . if iriver doesn't show up then select add device where it says mount point type /mnt/iriver/ and that should do it. always remember to right click the iriver (or what ever media device) icon and select eject or unmount before unplugging. i hope this works for you red_vino tombo
