Microphone not working - Ubuntu Studio 11.04 (Asus Xonar DG)

Hello.

I'm having trouble setting up my microphone in Ubuntu studio. I have Asus Xonar DG PCI sound card installed. Output is great, everything works just fine. However, input doesn't. I tried the pulse audio volume controls, also running alsamixer, but acomplished nothing. I was following different threads in Ubuntu forums. Nothing worked for me. Everything works great under Win XP, but in Ubuntu microphone doesn't.

I'm not a tech-guy, more like a newbie from windoze os. I would really like to get this up and running. I was redirected here from a sound troubleshooting guide (Ububntu documentation), and it said that i put my terminal output here after running "wget -O alsa-info.sh http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh && chmod +x ./alsa-info.sh && ./alsa-info.sh", so, here it is:

Thanks Sary, but I've already been through that, no success. It seems Xonar DG doesnt get anything at all from my mic or any other input. I have tried with pavucontrol and alsamixer, all the variations, but still no go. Currently I'm somewhere in the middle of this:

Still no luck. Only thing I acomplished is I can record sound with my onboard audio, but no sound is heard during recording when output is onboard, nor when through Xonar DG. So:

1) Onboard can record audio.
2) Xonar DG can't detect any kind of input.
3) Both onboard and Xonar DG have normal output except sounds from microphone - nothing is heard, but I can see the bars respond to mi voice in pavucontrol when input is onboard.
4) When I use eg. Sound Recorder, it will record from mic through onboard input, and play the sound after recording, but not during the recording.

Is this weird or what??

Please run alsamixer in a Terminal session and unmute and increase volume to 100% on the following channels:

Card hw:0 'DG'/'C-Media Oxygen HD Audio at 0xac00, irq 18'

Simple mixer control 'Line',0
Simple mixer control 'Mic',0
Simple mixer control 'Aux',0

Then connect your microphone to the rear microphone jack at the back of your PC (instead of using the front mic jack)

Then retest your microphone.

  i hope Nikola find his way through .

I myself facing an issue with X , which is a real headache .. but that's
my issue to deal with!

I found the wiki / documents are very helpful and even useful to point
to newcomers .
