No sound on acer aspire 3613LCi with Ubuntu 11.10

I have an acer aspire 3613 LCi that i can not get any sound from everything appears corect i ran a few commands i found on another page and its giving me the correct info such as sound card name so i know the computer recognizes it it just wont play.

I also have all controls and everything works normally except the audible part i know everything works because i just switched it from windows xp where everything worked correctly so im totally stumped.

Hi Chris,
Im sorry you have having these issues. Can you please ensure you have your speakers turned on and turned up. Check your settings in System Settings -- Sound, make sure the output volume is not at zero. Then run the following commands in terminal and paste the results here. You can open terminal by pressing CTLR+ALT+T

uname -a; lsmod; sudo aplay -l; find /lib/modules/`uname -r` | grep snd
