If you are using Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick), then execute this command and reboot:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/unstable; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get --reinstall install alsa-base alsa-utils; killall pulseaudio; rm -r ~/.pulse*

After rebooting, retest sound output using headphones and speakers.

no Sound its only show dummy output...

I just use AlsaUpgrade-1.0.24-2.sh. (Downloaded form somewhere) and my problem was solved
