installation of alps

Asked by ENUKPERE, E. E.

I have just installed UBUNTU in my system and do know how to go about installing ALPS.
I equally cannot find the command line in my UBUNTU installation though it is reported as installed under TERMINAL in ADD/REMOVE programs. Somebody please help.

Press Alt+F2, then type "gnome-terminal" and press enter. That should open the command line. If it works, you might create a launcher for faster access. Right-click a panel, choose "add to panel". Then choose to add a "custom launcher". A small window appears. Under "name" give the one you wish. "Command": gnome-terminal. Click OK.
What's ALPS?
